Sean Murphy's scratchy, hatched drawing style isn't for everyone (although I definitely dig it). And it definitely doesn't work for the kind of clean, straightforward superhero stories most people think of when they hear the term "comic book".
In short, it goes something like this: In the near future, a major TV network launches a reality show starring a clone of Jesus Christ, who quickly becomes the biggest celebrity and source of controversy in the world. And then (spoiler) he loses his own faith. In a spectacular fashion.
If that synopsis doesn't hook you, then I'm simply not doing the book justice. One of the most gripping stories I've read in years.
